More than 300 Trane employees lose their jobs

TYLER - Workers at Trane know their jobs may be seasonal, and representatives there say it's common to lay off some employees this time of year, however, this year, more than three hundred workers got the bad news.

Trane officials say it's because of the economy, and union representatives say they knew something was coming.

"Sales had been pretty flat all year long...We knew the company was going to have to make some sort of decision," Tony Hays, President of the IUE-CWA, says.

The decision mainly affects the second shift production crew, but then entire workforce feels the cut.
