Economic Evidence Is Clear - Unions Don't Hurt The Economy

http://www.laborradio.org/node/10769

By Doug Cunningham

: “Unionized firms do not fail ay any higher rates than non-union firms.”

Economic Policy Institute economist Josh Bivens. Bivens says economic research is clear – increased unionization does not hurt employment or the economy.

: “The state of the art academic research - examining the causal effects of unionization of firms – and it finds out that there is no causal effect. They do not go out of business or grow more slowly in terms of employment than their non-union peers.”

A new report from the University of Michigan’s John Dinardo clearly debunks the big business argument that more unionization causes more unemployment or more frequent business failures.

: “Essentially this research really puts the lie to some overblown claims made by those opposed to the Employee Free Chocie Act regarding opposing unionization on the alleged grounds that unions increase unemployment.”

In fact, Bivens says, unions can be good for the economy – in part because they reduce economic inequality.

2. Banks DESTROY hundreds of TRILLIONS of dollars of peoples wealth in Ponzi scheme
Banks get Govt Baiout. NO STRINGS ATTACHED. Execs get BONUSES. WORKERS (TAXPAYERS) GET SCREWED.

Auto companies lose hundreds of BILLIONS of dollars. Auto companies get bailout. MANY STRINGS ATTACHED. WORKERS GET SCREWED. Execs get GOLDEN PARACHUTES.

Workers (Unions) propose bill that would help WORKERS (EFCA). BIG BIZ lobbies AGAINST bill. Bill won't get passed (hope I'm WRONG). WORKERS GET SCREWED.

:wtf: :grr: :nuke:
