LOS ANGELES—An agreement has been reached between the Radisson Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport and roughly 160 of its workers who will receive wage increases and free family health insurance.
Monday's contract signing makes the Radisson Hotel the fourth major airport-area hotel to reach a deal with a hotel-worker union since 2005. About 1,000 area hotel workers have joined the union during an organizing campaign.
Union spokeswoman Paulina Gonzalez says the Hilton Los Angeles Airport, which employs some 800 workers, is the only hotel it targeted that remains non-union.
Last year, a judge for the National Labor Relations Board found that the Hilton illegally retaliated against pro-union workers and ordered the hotel to pay more than $36,000 in back wages.
A Hilton spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
