The Association of Flight Attendants – CWA says the National Mediation Board this week granted its request to declare that the Delta/Northwest airlines merger has created a single transportation system. That clears a union election for takeoff. More than 20,000 flight attendants will now get a chance to vote on whether or not to have a union at the merged airline. It will be the first time these workers can vote on union representation under a rules reform that no longer counts workers who don’t vote as votes against the union.
