Northcoast Children's Service workers OK union

Early care and education workers at Northcoast Children's Services announced Wednesday they have won the right to be represented by the California Federation of Teachers in contract discussions.

Crediting their success in the election to hard work, patience and listening to their co-workers, representatives of the union-organizing committee will gather soon to celebrate their victory.

”We are so pleased with the integrity of our colleagues and the courage they showed in standing up for themselves and for what is right,” Jennifer Turley said in a statement.

Coming on the heels of Tuesday's National Labor Relations Board election win, workers thanked NCS parents and the North Coast community for their support during the last year.

”Now is the time for all of us to come together on behalf of the children and families we serve,” Connie Pardi said in a statement.
