Jan. 25--An accident at Fort Martin Power Plant on Thursday claimed the life of a Morgantown man.

Jason J. Hall, 25, was hit by a tri-axle dump truck hauling ash and died at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Police said the driver of the truck, who was not identified, went into shock after hitting Hall and was taken to Ruby Memorial.

Hall was an employee of Coresco, an ash disposal company based in Morgantown.

Police said Hall had been cleaning out an ash silo.

Ash, a bi-product of burning coal to produce electricity, is collected in the silo by the plant's environmental control system, loaded into a truck and hauled away, Allegheny Power Spokesman Allen Staggers said.
