The number of union members in Arizona has grown.

There are 230,000 labor union members in the state, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. That is up from 197,000 in 2006.

Union members represent 8.8 percent of Arizona's workers. Labor accounts for 16.7 percent of the work force in California, 25.2 percent in New York and 15 percent in Nevada.

The Arizona AFL-CIO said the growth shows that unions are gaining ground in Arizona, which is a "right to work" state.

1. Dems Made Virtually No Effort To Win Arizona In 2004
Will they ignore that state today?

I monitor its Tucson newspaper and note how it is always filled with right wing posts that include an infinite amount of lies.

Why don't Democrats answer those lies and try to win over the public sentiment there???

3. Interesting!
Arizonans used to be a lot more sensible about their politics.

While families no longer own newspapers because the media are so controlled by the ultra right, progressives do have the Internet and can still publish the truth that is hidden away by the corporate interests. Therefore, Arizona progressives can post in the tucsoncitizen's forums and can reveal that truth.

The Grand Canyon State can and should be taken by progressives. There is absolutely no reason why it should remain under the control of the ultra right liars. It is time for the Democratic party to make its presence and dominance felt there.
