Union Recognizes Tri-City Medical Center Workers

Health care workers at Oceanside’s Tri-City Medical Center joined the SEIU United Healthcare Workers — West, United Healthcare said on April 9. (SEIU stands for Service Employees International Union).

The union recognized more than 500 workers, including advanced care technicians, emergency medical technicians, dietary workers, operating room technicians and phlebotomists.

Two weeks ago, United Healthcare announced the addition of 1,000 workers at St. Francis Medical Center in Lynwood and nine CHW Medical Foundation health clinics in the Sacramento region. There are 150,000 members in the union.
