From Patriot-News staff reports

Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and the union that represents its nearly 1,200 registered nurses agreed Wednesday to a contract extension as the two sides continue contract negotiations, the medical center reported.

The old contract expired March 31, but the extension agreement leaves its terms in place until midnight April 27. Unionized nurses will remain on the job during negotiations.
