LAUDERHILL (CBS4) ― Yet another crane accident has occurred in South Florida in a period of weeks, this time in Lauderhill.
Friday night, Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded to a report of a crane accident located at 4164 Inverrary Drive--The Manors at Lauderhill complex. The crane, which was moving a mansard from the roof of a 10 story building, dropped a 12 foot by 4 foot section from 10 stories up.
Iit landed on an unoccupied black passenger car. Flying debris however damaged the window of an apartment with a hole the size of a baseball. No injuries have been reported.
Building officials from the City of Lauderhill responded to the scene to investigate.
Last month, two men died in a crane accident in the City of Miami, two other victims were injured in an Aventura accident, and in a more recent accident in Ft. Lauderdale no one was hurt.
