Florida Democrats want their votes to count, but aren't willing to play by the DNC rules and aren't willing to pay for another vote. So the DNC should pay for it.

Hmmm.

As Dean correctly points out, the DNC's money should now go to defeating McCain. The impact of Florida's electors aren't going to swing the outcome to Hillary having more delegates than Obama at this point, so what is the point?

2. Not to mention that the DNC only has about $3.1M in it's coffers
and we have quite a number of Senate and House races to support.

Nelson knows this, hence the "empty" offer of a re-vote. HRC has already stated that she "will not accept" (She's the Queen of World!) a caucus (which would cost 5 times less than a redo of the primary).

HRC does not want a re-vote of any kind. Don't be fooled.

All they want is for her ill-gotten non-delegates to be seated. I hope that, unlike our elected Dem leadership in congress, Howard Dean shows some spine as tells them to "pound sand".

3. This is ridiculous
Ok, how about the DNC pays for *a caucus* in Florida? That would give supporters of both candidates something to like and dislike.

4. Everybody has to follow the same rules.
Hillary doesn't get to rewrite them.

5. I agree but
I have a bad feeling something WILL get rewritten, and if it is, a caucus is the best middleground.

6. Yes, this IS ridiculous!
Fl and MI KNEW ahead of time what the rules were.
They got their way ... they agreed to set their own agenda.
Now 3 months have passed, and they want to change the rules.

10. It is NOT ridiculous that Florida Democrats want their votes counted.
Not sure what you mean by FL and MI setting their own agendas. I cannot speak about MI. But in Fl the primary date was moved up by a Republican led State Legislature. While the DNC rules precluded Dem candidates from campaigning here, the RNC allowed campaigning and striped half not all of its delegates.

It is also not "only 3 months that have passed" since FL Dems have wanted to have our votes counted. The call to the DNC to recognize FL Democratic delegates has been going on since the DNC said it would strip the state of it's delegates.

This decision by the DNC also does not support the election of a Democratic President. Prior to the primaries the Republicans have been all over the state with campaign rallies, tv and radio. So while they are getting their message out and making the Republican pitch, the Democratic message was being blacked out - BY OUR OWN PARTY!

So while it may not be financially practical to redo the primaries, at least understand what happened and how all Democratic voters - not just those of us in Florida - continue to get screwed by the system.

In the interest of full disclosure I cast my vote that didn't count for John Edwards.

Peace.

7. First off...I was an Edwards supporter....
so to me...I'm waiting to figure out whoever the nominee will be.

But I have to say...both candidates knew the delegates would not be seated for FL and MI. Now that the math is getting harder and harder for Hillary...she wants them to seat the delegates. I can understand why.

But here's what I can't:

Hillary (and her surrogates) are willing to bleed money that EVERYBODY know goes to the GE away from the DNC. She wants the nomination so bad...that she doesn't seem to care that WHAT she wants...and the way she's INSISTING it be done...doesn't just hurt her opponent. It hurts the party...and the constituents...and essentially this country if because of it McCain wins the Presidency.

This is one of the most self-absorbed actions I've ever seen by somebody.

To Hillary:

If by some act of God you win the nomination...I'll vote for you. But at what cost are you willing to fight for the nomination? Enough to ruin the party's chances at winning in November?

I think it may be close for you to start considering bowing out.

Sorry Clinton supporters....I think she finally lost me on this one.

11. Florida voter here. They wanted it now the state must pay for
it. When we make a bad decision in life
we must pay the consequences.
I suggest. Send all registered voters a poll sheet
to return in the mail. With a carbon copy. Count them correctly, (if possible).
Then the Delegates can be counted. The cost of this, is Florida's punishment for
trying to be bad ass. Peace
