1. It was not an endorsement - another Obama smear - she noted the public sees him as CinC - not Obama

2. Nope. I'll side with my trusted progressive media figures on this one
After all, we don't have many of them and we ALL *used* to trust them until the facts and opinions they presented didn't fit with our particular candidate of choice.

Enjoy!

3. Nice of her to reinforce public opinion favoring McCain
Edited on Fri Mar-07-08 12:46 PM by theredpen
Maybe she should "note" that public opinion thinks Obama is a crypto-Muslim.

It's the old "some people think" approach straight off of Fox News — except that's not what she said. She expressed her opinion, not public opinion.

5. Exactly. It's like when conservatives complain that Media Matters smears them...
Media Matters just gives you transcripts, audio and video of what various people say. If anything, these people are "smearing" themselves.

She is hurting Obama and more importantly for Hillary supporters, she's ultimately hurting herself by making an argument that benefits McCain in the short *and* long run for the general election. I understand her supporters are defensive (as we ALL are WRT our candidate of choice), but at some point you have to step back and really look hard at this specific situation.

These latest tactics are questionable ethically AND politically, for both Dem candidates and for the Democratic party in general.

6. McBush amd MsBush just what the Dr ordered!?? I have a headache.
Hilary had to know that logic is till in play with most democrats even if the republican party has lost all it's ability for free thought.

And the logic from the 3 am commercial is as follows : if Hillary is more "ready" to be president than Obama because of her time in Washington then McCain is more "ready" than Hillary for that same reason.

Hillary needs to remember she is an elected Democratic senator. BIG D.

I think the media needs to be tougher on Obama and should have been all along. But this is Rovian and we don't need to be Rovian with one another.

Hillary you can be tough on Obama and still be fair and not damage your own party.

If you cannot, maybe you don't have the qualities
needed to answer that phone.

Toughness, but the ability to know a friend from an enemy. And the tact to keep a friend from becoming an enemy and the diplomacy to make an enemy a friend.

9. Replay of 1972
Much as I revere McGovern, this reminds me of how he got a nomination that should have been Gene McCarthy's, and then was about to be swiped by Bobby Kennedy when he was taken from us. What actually happened between '68 and '72 was that the civil rights people got cold feet over the anti=Vietnam war movement and the youth leaders of the latter, upon the ending of the draft, split between women's rights advocates and poverty activists, making the whole crowd look dangerous and peculiar to the Archie Bunkers of north and south.
Obama and Clinton will diminish each other and make a worthless Republican president. I'm really glad in a way, because I don't think any Democrat would survive trying to clean up Bush's mess. But it really is sad that our country can't turn this debacle into a resounding rejection of arch conservative ideology because our troopers have to suffer a sectarian fight over whose big 'change' this is going to be.
All we need now is for McCain to turn into the new Nixon.

8. She's Jumped The Shark
She wasn't going to get the nomination anyway, but hopefully the firestorm from this will damage her enough she'll cease and desist and we can throw all our energy and money toward beating the neocons.

I've had substantial reservations about both Obama and Hillary, neither of them seem liberal enough for me. When I voted this week in the Ohio primary I did vote for Hillary but regret that now - her repeated stroking of McCain sickens me.

I would suspect these comments from her will drive more than a few of her supporters to Barack.

Go Obama!

14. This is exactly
why I think Hillary has shown that she intends to take all of us to hell if she can't be crowned the nominee. I find her disgusting. Her scorched Earth approach here ain't going to help any of us. How any Democrat can support her now is beyond me.
