WARNING: Video contains strong language.

For sure, sending tooth brushes and playing cards helps to
ease the trials of warfare, but might we do something else to
show our support for our soldiers?

How about ending Stop Loss practices, using some of those
billions and billions of endless dollars funneled to no-bid
corporate contractors for increasing pay and pensions for our
soldiers and modernizing and providing medical care for the
tens of thousands of injured, maimed and psychologically
tortured vets?

How about putting an end to allowing incompetent liars,
cheats, thieves and cowards to force wars and invasions down
our throats while ignoring Constitutional principals and laws?

How about ending the use of torture, no matter what name you
give it? How about making America a symbol of freedom and
responsibility not arrogance and lawlessness.

Will we ever be able to get this message over to the general voting public?

Here's some progress from a very, very conservative group at our recent town meeting. The anti-war funding resolution passed 106 vs. 85 but only after the moderator was challenged after calling the resolution defeated by voice vote. 106 people actually stood up to pass the resolution below. I almost cried, and only five years after the invasion!

Article 7: To see it the Town will vote to adopt the following resolution:


Whereas, Congress has the sole responsibility to allocate national funds, and;
Whereas, roughly $200 million of taxpayer's money is being spent each day for the occupation of Iraq, and;
Whereas, this expenditure is depriving Americans of necessary funds for education, housing, health care, environmental preservation, and support for returning veterans, and;
Whereas, a majority of American citizens are calling for the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq,
We therefore call upon our congressional representatives to vote against additional Iraq-occupation funds and to approve only those funds necessary for the sage and rapid withdrawal of all our troops from Iraq. If this resolution is passed, the Town Clerk si instructed to send a copy of it to Senator Edward Kennedy, Senator John Kerry, Representative William Delahunt, Senator Harry Reid, Representative Nancy Pelosi, and President George W. Bush.

I remember our candlelight vigil on a cold March night so many years ago, thinking they would not be foolish enough to launch a pre-emptive war.


And if they are foolish enough to go ahead with this, hopefully it will be over by summer!
