1. Listen to what he says at 4 minutes 35 seconds
I trust him and I think he's right. I wish we could bridge the divide before much more time goes by.

Thank you for the great find.

6. I feel the same way: I trust him & I think he's right.
Having said that, it worries me that a representative who clearly works on behalf of the people is unable to commit an endorsement for Obama or Hillary. Perhaps my inner radar is working just fine; I have no excitement whatsoever this election.

16. All the supers were asked to hold off on endorsing, right?
And the Congressman already tried to throw some support behind Obama during a caucus and was hit back hard.

2. Dennis, once again 100% correct as usual
It is extremely unfortunate that America has not evolved to the point that a man of this character and virtue is electable.

5. Evolved?
Greetings mrone2; Evolved or intellectually shallow and lazy, I suspect it is both and possibly american idol was on in the same time slot as the presidential debates. It's also very difficult to get your views across to the American people as a presidential candidate if you are not extolling the virtues of Fascism in free trade and that all of our problems are the fault of the lazy blue collar Americans not wiling to work three jobs for $6.50 per hour...

Regards..............

18. Which candidate is calling people lazy and getting coverage?
Seems like political suicide to me. So who did it?

21. Devolved maybe yes.
If Reagan had not happened I doubt the regressive agenda of the Republicans would have grabbed hold and America would have stayed on a more progressive course to the point that possibly we would be on more of an even keel with our more progressive EU counterparts in terms of education, economy, healthcare, civil rights, etc. They worked hard during their tenure to make terms such as tax-and-spend-liberal, activist-judges, welfare-Cadillac, socialized-medicine, moral-authority, right-to-life, gay-agenda, and so on standard fare within the society, even though an in depth review of the justifications for their claims would be laughable to any "thinking" person.

10. I dont understand why he walked out?
Anything he says about it is pure speculation.

This pisses me off, why the fuck did he walk out of that meeting?

11. he walked because of what he said ...
in order to stay you sign a confidentiality statement, in other words you give your word nothing leaves this room ... that's why he challenged it and stressed a very high-threshold must be regarded.

my suspicions run much deeper ... with the resignation of Fallon, Iran is in the cross-hairs. The economy is gone, it will take another month or so before it really sinks in how bad things are going to get before panic sets in ... this was a "save your ass" secret meeting ... FISA may have been mentioned as a if you allow this it will accelerate the end ... but nothing more. My guess is when the food riots set in the unleashing of Draconian measures already in place is what was discussed.

Look, folks, whether by design or not we've crossed over the Rubicon, zipped past Fail Safe, there is no "fixing it" ... from here we start to find out what the phrase "pay-back is a bitch" really means ...

Would it have been better for DK to go to the meeting and betray his word if he were to gain evidence of criminal activity? To tell you the truth, as bad as things are now if it meant exposure of high crimes, just my thirst for some form of accountability, I wouldn't hold it against him, but he's the one who's word would of been broken. What I'm more interested in is his seemingly contradictory remark stating that there have been only 5 times before in 187 years that this procedure was granted yet he made reference as though he had attended several ... are there degrees of secret meetings? Now that time has pasted can DK tell us what was discussed at those meetings he did attend?

12. He explained...
He's unwilling to sign the confidentiality pledges that they make the members sign before meetings like this (and other intelligence related meetings). I'd love it if he went and then came out and told us what happened, but they won't let him get away with that.

13. That's the whole point.
If you sign the confidentiality agreement and attend the meeting, you can't subsequently say anything about what happened in the public sphere. The closed meeting could be discussing killing and eating babies, and you'd have to keep your mouth shut. That's why Kuchinich refused to attend: to do so would have made him complicit in whatever went on. He performed a far more valuable service by not attending, but by bringing the fact that the meeting occured to the attention of the American people.

Edited on Sat Mar-15-08 11:50 PM by Kutjara
Unfortuantely, his true value will not be understood until a generation or two after he'd dead. You want real change, real integrity, real experience? Here's your man. Oh wait, it's too late.

Instead, we'll just elect another nice safe corporate shill and go right back to sleep.

15. Absolutely Mind-Blowing.
Bush and the GOP use a secret meeting to pressure Congress to do their bidding like some tin-pot dictatorship.

19. K&R Dennis is *so* retro, believing in such silly things as...
...telling the truth, refusing to bend, calling people on their bullshit, and ... taking the chance he'll join Paul Wellstone, wherever he may be.

It's a desperately sad commentary on this nation that a man of his ethical stature is drummed out of the race because "he can't win."

I always love to hear what he's got to say, total truth.

secret meetings again keeping the american people in the dark, you know these guys can just pick up and go to another country, and leave us to fend for ourselves, it could very well happen. Is it time for pitchforks and torches yet?
