1. Great event and great speeches, by
Earl Blumenauer (I couldn't hope for a better Congressman), Bill Richardson, and Barack Obama.

3. When did Blumenauer speak?
I had to work so I didn't get there until 9:30 and had to leave at 10:45.

I loved the story that Richardson told about the debate. :) The rally was great. I had a lot of hurdles to clear just to be able to attend, I'm so glad that I did.

4. Earl was on about 9:05.
He was fantastic.

And as a Congressman, he rarely is less.

2. For once, I'll actually have a good reason to vote in the primary!
It's exciting. Oregonians usually get shafted for having our primary so late. Oregon actually matter, for once.

5. I SO wanted to see him when he came to town
I just wasn't expecting to see him for another month or so and was caught off guard, unable to go.

GOBAMA!

6. His Medford appearance is causing a big problem
I ordered my ticket and my wife's ticket at the same time. Mine came and hers didn't. I know the right thing to do is to let her have the ticket, but I just can't bring myself to do it.

7. Barack Obama and Bill Richardson in Portland
My three teenagers and I came from four hours away to be at
this rally (we got there at 4:20am) and were honored to be
present when Bill Richardson announced his support. Being
there was an experience I can't describe. What effected me
the most were the people there to support Barack Obama. They
were my kind of people interested in doing what is right for
all people, our country and the world. The kind of people I'm
teaching my kids to be. It made me feel better about our
country just being around all those who support Barack Obama.
We all knew it too. Everyone just smiling with tears of joy
that suddenly there is hope. There was this older man who was
a volunteer and he was walking around the groups of people
with the biggest smile you can imagine (my kids knew who I was
talking about when I mentioned him later). He was black and I
could just feel his joy of being there among all these people
black, white and all variations there for the common good of
all people. I have been so disillusioned by this current
president and his administration and... My first ray of hope
has been John Conyers and his fighting against the odds for
secured elections (we have to get our democracy back) and many
other causes he has been willing to fight against. My first
choice was Bill Richardson and then I was on the fence with
Obama and Clinton(because of her experience and her husbands
experience) but then her campaign went negative and he proved
that he is real. Experience doesn't mean a thing if you don't
have the judgment to go with it. We were so excited about the
rally that I left town without any cash. We went down town
Portland to eat and my kids found a great donut shop but they
only took cash. Another customer heard me saying why I forgot
to get cash and if I could write a check and he said take this
and donate the same amount to Barack Obama when you get home
because I'm also a big supporter of his as he handed me what
cash he had left in his wallet ($22). I tried to write him a
check for it and he kept insisting! So tonight I will donate
$125 more toward his campaign! My kids and I enjoyed the
donuts! Vote for Obama.
