1. It's like they say

A journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step. At least we should all agree to start the journey towards patching up our differences. I know a lot of us are well down that road. Others maybe not as much. But it is a journey that for the good of our nation must be taken. Start with the easy task fist, namely racism, and then when that's accomplished, let's figure out how to deal with the real problem in this country, republicans.

2. May I add to what he said....

5% are true racist. 10% are racist, but don't actively join racist groups. 15% are somewhat racist, and keep it to themselves, unless with people like them. 25% don't don't like racism, but would never approve of their child marrying someone of another race. 35% are uncomfortable in a room full of people of another race.

I call it my trickle down theory of racism, and I just came up with it.

I do not think he means those percentages literally so I would not get too caught up on them. I actually agree with his general idea and I think it makes a lot of sense.

Also, I've noticed that most people define racism as "being more racist than me". So your klan types and so on sometimes deny that there even is such a thing as racism in any real person.
