It saddens me that this song represents a country almost lost. The country this song is about is quite different than the country we now reside in. We, as patriots, need to do our duty to keep the government in check... Before America and her ideals end up as an ancient idea we recall when telling our children and grandchildren what is was like at one time when we were young.
We all strive for a better tomorrow, it's time we ensure it rather than paying lip-service to the philosophy.

1. This is my favorite song to play on the 4th. I do feel like you, however, that sometimes it seems..

our country is almost lost, especially when you consider the stupidity of many in Washington. However, I am often proud of the average American. It seems like every day I do hear about some really special and caring person who reaches out to others without regard to their own safety or gain. An example would be that AA that jumped into a subway track to save a stranger. When I heard the stories of many of the people killed in 9/11 I was grieved but so proud that so many really good people had ever lived as Americans. America is just a hodgepodge of many nationalities that has served up a really great recipe for its people. I may not always believe in the government because it seems like something goes awry when people get to Washington, but I will always believe in the American people. :kick:
