"I'm f---ing Obama"

It's not quite an actual prank -- or even a bowling joke -- but here's your April Fools' levity for the day: A new viral video entitled "I'm fucking Obama," filmed from the perspective of one Hillary Clinton.

The video, which is below, follows in the hallowed tradition of "I'm fucking Matt Damon" and "I'm fucking Ben Affleck," videos filmed by comedian Sarah Silverman and her boyfriend Jimmy Kimmel that went viral in a major way earlier this year. (The music you'll hear in the background of the video is taken from "I'm fucking Matt Damon.") But this one has a deeper message -- Clinton, the video's makers imply, isn't actually having sex with Barack Obama, she's just hurting his chances of winning the general election if he's the nominee. It's another part of a growing dolchstosslegende narrative that we've seen increasing numbers of Obama supporters discussing recently.

I'm just honestly trying to figure out why this video, whether you find it humorous or not is insulting to Hillary but not insulting to Obama. The only implications I can think of are both equally odious, it's insulting to Hillary because women aren't supposed to like sex? or it's insulting to Hillary because she would want to have sex with a black man? If it's insulting to Hillary then it's insulting to Obama and THAT is the point I'm making. To single this out as being a slap in the face to Hillary is saying that there's something shameful about Obama. I am not one to be offended by strong language--but this was simply childish. Perhaps it provides a release for some who are strenuously engaged in the current primary battle, sort of like the release one gets from giggles at a funeral--or like a student drawing mustaches and pimples on a picture of their teacher, but it is certainly very low brow. So, enjoy to your hearts content and replay as much as needed, just please refrain from questioning MY sense of humor. (I never liked the three stooges either, but I think the Marx brothers were hilarious)

....not so long ago, when humor was truly that - humorous. Now it's just how many shock words can you say. Silverman's only the latest of those to ride this train, and since it DOES get some attention, why not flog it until everyone's so numbed by it that it's lost it's effectiveness? After all, why pay a bunch of writers to write truly funny stuff when you can just say "four-letter words" and get the same amount of laughter?
The truly GREAT comedians could make an audience roar with laughter and never utter one offensive word. The con-medians of today have sunk to following the supposed genius of the likes of Eddie Murphy and his ilk that discovered profanity would do just as well as true comedy. :dunce:
