By the way, in case you missed it the first time, here are a couple of great TYT clips with Rachel Maddow calling out conservative talking heads (and Cenk's reaction): http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=385&topic_id=114569&mesg_id=114569

PS---You can always watch TYT Live from 3-5 pm ET, with a Rolling Post Game 5-7 pm daily Monday-Friday at www.theyoungturks.com (both shows include a live chat). The RPG often contains political talk but also many non-political topics to lighten things up (and yes, that audio may not necessarily be work-safe).

Also, if you can't watch live, the 3-5pm portion of the show (politics) streams the rest of the day, all day right after the Post Game Show ends leading up to the initial show at 3pm.

1. Are you kidding? Everyone Bush has ever given favors to will "pay" him to speak.
I guarantee he will make just as much as Clinton.

This is how everyone cashes in.

2. Did you watch the clip? Cenk says that of course he *will* get paid to speak but...
It's very entertaining and I'm guessing you agree with him. You can't just go by the video clip subject line. :)

4. Speech pathologists
I expect Bush to be a major draw at conventions of speech therapists, much as Koko would be a hit at a convention of primatologists. Not as someone whose opinion is desired, but as a subject of intense curiosity.

As far as speech content goes, personally, I would rather listen to Koko.

19. I'd also rather hear Koko's opinion
on geopolitics, free trade, exporting democracy, or any of the other crap we can expect Bush to lecture on.

After all, gorillas are not known for their ability to lie.

21. Koko has been caught lying
She could be a politician. Once when her trainer asked her who tore up her enclosure and threw stuff around she signed "bad man come in". I hear McCain is considering her for a running mate if she can learn to sign "Al Qaeda".

5. He could always make surprise appearances at public places
and see how many people will pay him NOT to speak.

6. Think of the millions the faith-based legislation has brought to religions .. .
Poppy started off by popping out of the White House onto a stage for the Rev. Moon and made . .
was it $12 MILLION for that --- !!! ???

7. A couple of things . ..
The American Enterprise Institute will no doubt pay Bush money to speak. AEI members are the only people in America who support him or his failed policies.

Second, no one will give up their hard earned money to hear Bush speak or read what Karen Hughes will write under his by-line. That's because those who will pay to hear the Frat Boy are Wall Street bankers and Corporate officers, none of whom have any hard earned money. Easy money, perhaps, but none that is hard earned.

8. *** comments from that clip
B....: “I hope that when it’s all said and done, people see me as a strategic thinker. Able to stay focused on an um a strategy.....”

B.....: “I thought an interest comment was made when somebody said to me, I heard somebody say, so where is Mandela. Well Mandela is dead, because Saddam Hussain killed all the Mandela’s”

18. Wait a minute.
You don't see the context of that quote, but doesn't it sound like they are supposed to be talking about the "Mandela" of Iraq? A hypothetical person who is hypothetically dead. ("Where's the Mandela?Saddam killed all the Madelas.") So maybe he is just saying something presumptuous and not completely stupid.

Let's focus on the actual completely stupid things he said. "The problem with the French is they don't have a word for 'entrepreneur'." Oh my lord.

14. BU$H's future is a bright one, indeed
I see it:

A drunken Bu$h, 15 years in the future.

Performing his brilliant speech-reading act in some cheesy plastic convention center. His audience: a bunch of Gordon Gekkos in stiff tuxedos slurping margaritas. Bu$h having a bad night, slurring his speech, having been somewhat lax in speech-study preparation. The crowd just barely paying attention at first, then becoming surly with drink, openly laughing at him like a clown.

Mark Bryan could make a kick ass painting about this one, I'll bet. Picture the scene rendered by this guy:

While speaking, he must be wearing either his Chinese polka-dot outfit, or his lab coat/goggle get-up. :)
