Murtha fought to end the war when it was still fairly popular. He has credibility on the war that few others have. He stood up and put his neck on the line during a time when the war fairly popular and certainly there was little support for a timed withdrawal then. Murtha is not someone who offered rhetoric at the time. He offered action.
