7. are you saying he *isn't encouraging people to support Hillary?
My radio commute choices are Limbaugh or sports... so I do hear him a fair amount.

Every time I hear him he talks about 'Operation Chaos' and how people should support Hillary to keep the primary going.
There is also more than 'a little' crossover in what/how Hillary and Limbaugh happen to be attacking Obama about on any given day.
I don't think Hillary is using Limbaugh's talking points, but I wouldn't doubt for a second that Rush uses her anti-Obama rhetoric.

The parent was referring to something I've wondered about a lot... does Hillary realize there is a vocal portion of her 'supporters' that are Limbaugh Lackies?
I don't know how big of a segment this is, but listening to Limbaugh and looking at party crossover numbers it's naive to think it's just not there.

15. He's "supporting" Hillary because Obama is clearly winning. If Hillary was winning, he'd probably
be supporting Obama. His apparent goal is not to back a particular Democratic candidate, it's to keep the process going as long as possible.

.... as he urges criminal activity and yet "the media" tells about Rev.
Wright and Ayers as "threats" to America.

6. Ain't that the truth, Botany....
It makes me sick to see the utter hypocrisy in the corporate media. If a so-called "left winger" had said the same thing about the Puke convention in Minneapolis, they would have been all over it.

Tweety, Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan would be postively orgasmic on the "boob tube" just to name a few.

3. I still say that Limbaugh and other similar talk shows are responsible
for the Oklahoma City bombing and other recent domestic acts of terrorism. They constantly pound out this anti government message that emboldens their listeners (dildoheads) into extreme behavior, because they're convinced they're only carrying out what most Americans want. And they'll either be vindicated or go down as a martyr for the cause.

5. Hey, let's start a mass movement!
SEND THE BILL TO LIMBAUGH!

Anyone who has a business or property in Denver and whose business or property is damaged by rioting no neck conservatives needs to bill that fat fuck for the damages. If he doesn't pay, they need to haul him into civil court.

Were I a business person in downtown Denver, that is precisely what I would do.

8. Write and complain
I wrote the FCC and put in a complaint, and urged my Senators (Cornyn and Hutchinson, what a laugh) and Congressman Doggett to denouce this man on the floor of the Senate and House.

Take 5 minutes and do this.

17. I wrote the FCC, too,
and I admit I'm a bit frustrated that many people here on DU aren't bothering to take the action.

There was thread after thread about boycotting ABC's sponsors and ABC after the debate -- why no outrage over this?

Please, DUers, if you haven't -- the FCC site has a little form already to go. You just need to fill in the info and a short sentence.

www.FCC.gov

If Imus can be fired over a vile racist remark, why shouldn't Limbaugh be fired for inciting -- or at least planting the seed for -- violent rioting? It his statement politically correct? Is that the difference? :grr:

28. WPTF - 680 am in Raleigh
I looked it up on his web site - they have an affiliate list -- I'm in the Raleigh area, too.

So then I went to WPTF's site to see what time his show is on. 12pm - 3pm.

I think I gave the correct date on the other thread -- I don't remember it now. If you need that let me know and I'll track it down.

Sorry I didn't see your earlier question.

I've asked before, why does anyone even listen to this idiot?

If he ever did have anything intelligent to say for the right wing philosophy ( like a George Will), and I do not concede that point, or even the ability to parrot the points of others effectively it is long since gone.

13. I think his listenership numbers are inflated.
There are people like me who will listen to his show to hear how retarded and irrational he's gonna be today.

The other leg to my argument is that Clear Channel simply oversaturates the airing of his show. Where I live there are at least three stations within 25 miles that air his drivel.

I seem to notice that many of his sponsors are not the traditional corporate buys--food, beverages, cars, etc. They're more of the 800-number/get rich quick contacts.

There is no hiding this and now it seems he has expanded on it.

If you have not done so yet please contact the FCC about Rush Limbaugh's Comments.

14. I disagree with Maddow....
that Limbaugh knows exactly what he is doing. That "phoney soldier" comment came close to doing some serious damage to Limbaugh, damage he was able to deflect only by donating a million dollars (I believe it was a million. It was a very large sum of money. Good thing Clear Channel pays him enough to buy back his audience) to a Veterans organization. He also screwed up that Missouri Senatorial race with his ugly imitation of Michael Fox.

Some day Limbaugh will go too far.

16. regardless of rachel maddow's take on it
i still think rush limbaugh should be arrested and charged with inciting a riot. how much more clearly does he need to make it? cindy sheehan got arrested for wearing a t-shirt with a number on it. this fuck goes on the airwaves and tells his listeners to riot at the convention. it seems crystal clear to me.

22. I agree barbtries...It is sedition and inciting a riot.but Repubs own DoJ
Rush is trying for extra security at convention because he knows we reject being policed. Notice no one is calling for riots at the republican convention where they are more deserved for all the abuse of power the last 12 yrs.and war crimes etc.Look at what the republicans have done to this country. Rush is a Maggot and yet Cheney and Bush appear on his program with him. That's slumming and makes it hard to have any respect for a president who would do that.

26. Another take...
I believe he is encouraging, hoping, "dreaming" for US (progressives, anarchists, whatever Left exists) to get all "het up" and riot this summer, not his bonehead devotees.

I still recommend hammering the FCC to pull this fool off the air and jail him the second ever ONE person perpetrates an act of violence in Denver, though.

Why isn't the FCC taking him off the air? Why isn't his stations dumping him? This is wrong no matter whose party it is.

19. She is inciting fear "if dems don't...then they'll lose". Doesn't have the insight to see
This election is like no other in history. The ONLY presidential race here is in the democratic primary (because whoever wins the dem primary will be the next president) This is what Maddow should be saying...she should be laughing at McCain as any real threat and say, "No Keith, the real race to be president is only between Obama and Clinton...period" The people know this...but these pundits just don't get it. The only idiots voting for McCain are the ones still supporting Bush and they will never change. The democratic primary IS the presidential election. Whoever wins it the dems will come together behind and vote to be president because dems know that the SC and the DoJ depend on getting a democrat (any democrat) in as president and that appointing a Supreme Court justice is as important in this day and age as electing a president. The DoJ is so corrupted now that four more years of republican appointments and there will be no justice (except corporate justice)left in America.

FIRST ABOVE ALL, THIS REPUBLICAN REGIME MUST END OR WE WILL LOSE OUR DEMOCRACY.
