22. that was the ad he had to do ....
Hill is getting loose around the edges right now, just going for anything she can grab ahold of to meet this new "fighting for the average american" thing ... It was shortsighted to hop on to the gas tax, in light of how little of an impact it will have for the individual ...

This was exactly the connection that needed to be made ... Point out what little it will do, then connect the the larger theme that is the foundation of BO's campaign ...

For the LOVE OF GOD, please let this help him win, if only by one stinking vote, in Indiana !!!

31. It takes more than hope and goosebumps to get a job done.
I know many a president thas been elected via hope and empty rhetoric.

9. I have to nit-pick
I've been early and loud in my praise of Obama for not joining in on the gas tax holiday pandering, but on his energy plan step 3 is middle class tax cut? huh?

10. That's not his energy plan, it's how he'll give relief to people being hit by high gas prices.

32. How is he going to give relief to people being hit by high gas
prices? I didn't hear how he proposes to do just that. Looking at and going after oil companies, checking gas consumption and developing new energy sources? Obvious but not a plan.

34. Well obviously he isn't going to go through a detailed plan on a commercial, no one does.
Those are a few of many things, and a tax cut for those making $75,000, or less, sounds like relief to me.

14. Great music and the message is what we need to hear....
His message is what those of us in Oregon need to get out to the rest of the people in these next few weeks. Ballots go out on Friday so get on the Obama site on the internet and volunteer in your community. The next few weeks we all need to work hard to support our candidate. So many republicans in my town have changed parties to vote for Obama!

He touched on conservation. That's something that they all need to stress the importance of. We all need to use less.

18. Wow. He took it pretty easy on Clinton and McCain
I'd have called them out for pandering during an election year; putting forward an unhelpful proposal that *seemed* to benefit the public at first blush but was actually just another big cash handout to the oil companies.

In addition, he needs to spell out the implications involved. Highways, infrastructure, jobs, etc.

And yes, the pandering to the intellectually deprived. Worded diplomatically of course.

He also needs to replace the guy sitting behind his right shoulder.

20. The thing to remember is that Obama is under attack because he's attacking the status quo.
So, the right wing media stooges have to scrape the bottom of the barrel and make a tempest in a teapot over remarks his minister made years ago; misinterpret his message of peoples' voting habits, calling him "elitist," and so forth.

We can keep doing the same old, same old by voting McCain and to a lesser extent, Clinton, and spend the next 8 years pissing and moaning about why things are the same.

Can Obama change the status quo? I don't know. But his message is to do so and that's where you have to start.

23. Awesome Ad!!!!
but Im still a little scared. People have been buying into this pandering crap since the being of America. Its going to be really hard to change they way people see things. I just hope they think this through because if they do then Obama wins their vote.

What a concept. I loved his message of conservation as well. So simple, so true. People are smart enough to understand that short term fixes mean nothing. I too believe Obama is being attack for his trying to disrupt the status quo. You go Barack! Tell em like it is.

28. Wow! He does know how to solve the problem
Raise the fuel efficiency standards so that when Joe Blue Collar worker heads out the next time to buy his brand new car, he saves money on the gas his new car will consume. And come on blue collar worker, you don't need that 75 bucks over the next 6 months (as opposed to 25 bucks that is being quoted - 15 gallons a tank times 20 cents times 26 weeks).

30. Telling us the truth. We already know the truth, Barack.
Tell us, what is your plan other than the obvious? His plan ? The obvious:
Go after/look at the oil companies, Use less oil and look for alternative sources of energy. That's
the plan?
