3. Apologize for what? The guy was allowed to say what he wanted to ...
That's more than we ever got from a Bush/Cheney rally.

6. Sycophants they cheer and chant and celebrate
Edited on Thu May-08-08 02:39 AM by mythyc
"I have told my sons that they are not under any circumstances to take part in massacres, and that the news of massacres of enemies is not to fill them with satisfaction or glee.

I have also told them not to work for companies which make massacre machinery, and to express contempt for people who think we need machinery like that."

Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. Slaughter-House-Five (emphasis added)

When I teach this book, my students ID this passage as one of its most important. Each semester, they say this is where it begins, that morality begins in the individual, then from individual to individual....

Do you teach your children to be filled with satisfaction or glee, do you condone cheering the news of massacres of enemies? Do they condemn or cheer them on? or perhaps there's a grey area....

And the "obliterate" line really bothered me too, so I'd like more people to ask her about it.

31. That was my first thought as well.
What a way to trivialize such a serious threat she made against the lives of 80 million human beings.

I hate her almost as much as George W. Bush.

13. Point will be made in November
And Democrats will realize the mistake then.

John Edwards was a much better option in 04 than Kerry, yet Dems banked on Kerry. Clinton, Edwards are both better options in 08 than BO. Yet the "system" sides with BO.

RIP

18. Don't get too giddy at the prospect of McCain there son...
And are you REALLY saying that Obama was a selection of "the system," as in the "powers that be" in the Democratic party? Are you f'ing kidding me? No I'm sure you are right. It had nothing to do with millions of individual democratic voters who saw him as the best choice, and donated multiple times each to his campaign. And yeah some of them work at oil companies, and some work at diners, and some work in corporate board rooms, and some operate backhoes.

No your right, it was the old boys club that killed her campaign. WRONG. HILLARY is the reason Hillary has lost.

26. Right but the fact is ...
That the Democratic campaign for the WH has the potential to come in at the billion dollar spending mark. That is unprecedented and IMO wasteful, imagine all the hope that money could have brought for ordinary citizens.....

or do you really believe Americans who donated to Obama and Clinton's campaigns made no other donations? Please.

35. My comment had little to do about the amounts donated.
More to do about the amount spent. Spending money to tear each other apart politically seems like a waste of good $'s. money that could be wisely spent elsewhere.. in other words funnel a couple hundred million of them campaign $'s to support an inner city child care for working mothers... how's that for a start? That way I wouldn't have to stress out over who's going to sit my kids while I bust my butt to work enough hours to recoup the gas money it takes me to get to my job... Now how's that for true idiocy. Seems like the minimum wage increase was offset by soaring gas prices go figure. The Congress seems to have given with one hand just as it was taking back with the other.

23. Girlpower! - Notice the Crowd! - This has been the problem - Dems - Fight - Girls against Guys!
Anybody else notice - the crowd...How many woman?

Democrats - largest voting block - Women...

This is the strength of Hillary's core base...

Short of Obama getting a sex change operation....as long as Hillary keeps this girlpower war going...it's going to be very hard for the party to re-unite.

This is why...I think...Hillary needs to be the VEEP...She brought this war..to the political stage...And it has a life of it's own...

Rooted in years of "good ol boy politics"..

Your thoughts?

25. Gee, am I seeing a Hillary "elitist" attitude here???
I didn't see any mention of her addressing the man's issue. I didn't see her say something like,
"Look folks, let's remember that this is America and everyone has a right to an opinion. Maybe this wasn't the best way to make it, but he does have a right to what he thinks. Now let me explain what I meant with regard to the statement he is concerned about." No. She goes sarcastic and "elitist" with her "I hope he didn't step on the cakes and cookies," remark. Pretty sad. Typical Hillary.
***When a group of anti-abortionists in NH starting chanting and disrupting an Obama rally he tried to calm them and said he would actually meet with them to discuss their concerns. Then he actually said that while he disagreed with them, they had a right to their views and actually took the time and effort to organize their effort. He didn't get sarcastic. He was poised and respectful. Hillary used Bush-like saber-rattling language with her "obliteration" thing and got a free pass from the MSM on it. She should answer questions about it. Yet what did we get? Vintage sarcastic and "elitist" Hillary.

32. She means:
Edited on Fri May-09-08 01:25 AM by nachoproblem
"I haven't really got anything to say in my defense, but the people watching me surely expect me to say something. So I'll feign to be concerned about their refreshments, because at best they will find it a clever way of trivializing that guy's protest, at worst I'm still they're chosen candidate so they won't risk embarrassing themselves by making a fuss, and either way their most likely response will be to laugh politely and that will make it seem like I'm still in control of the situation."

Edit: That sounds a little more snarky than I meant, but it's just supposed to reflect politics as usual.
