Julia Collins, 89, of New Mexico, speaks about why she supports Barack Obama in the 2008 election for president of the United States of America.

This made me cry.

1. "He Dares to try to change things and heaven knows we need that"

There you go.

He may not succeed in every way - or in many ways. After all, the power of the Establishment Status Quo is considerable. But he'll try and in some ways, he WILL succeed. And even trying - just TRYING - is more than anyone else who is running will do. The other two candidates are too much a part of the old Establishment - and they aren't trying anymore to change it because they benefit too much from it NOT changing.

2. It is really a shame that Obama's mother is not alive
to see what her son has accomplished and is about to accomplish.

This is truly America's moment to turn the page.

3. What a Mother's Day gift that would be - if she could see it..
...America had a moment to turn the page in 2000 with Al Gore - and it didn't happen, thanks to the Republican smear machinery and election fraud. I was SICK about what happened then.

AND AGAIN we have an astounding opportunity to move forward - to turn a significant page in our history. Will we, once again, be thwarted by those who profit so much from the Status Quo - from the Established past?

You can bet they'll try.

I hope THIS TIME - we can STOP them and move forward.
