2. "If republicans ride the elephant down main street...
it's going to get shot out from under them." - Mike Huckabee

my comment... "only if we miss!"

(disclaimer for Agent Mike... I am not advocating violence of any sort against any candidate for office or anyone else)

3. Anger-issues, senile mccain is a mature, ready for the job leader alright...
And what huckabee said about people not buying the brand but the cereal... it's exactly the opposite, people don't buy products, they buy brands. At least according to my marketing professor.

Just to hope that the Democratic party won't be swamped with bunch of DINO leeches rooting for sure-fire successes running as Democrats these times.

So much for "we have to become like them to win, friendler, lite-republicans"... hopefully that ideology gets rooted out eventually.

4. Two slight qualifiers:
1. The otherwise unexpected win might be partially explained by the fact that "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has reserved a seat on the agriculture committee for Childers, something Davis won't get. Since most people in MS-01 are farmers, the farm bill now being prepared is of tremendous importance to them. This is a situation where being in the majority matters. With the Democrats in control, Pelosi can arrange for a new member to get some goodies quickly to impress the folks back home. Republicans can't do that. That's politics and both parties do it, only now the Democrats control the House."

2. The GOP don't mind underplaying their chances in the GE and Russert is a tool for them.

5. interesting . . . and yet
I can't believe the people in MS are really paying attention to the details of Nancy Pelosi's committee appointments. Also, since when have people voted for Democrats just because it was in their economic self-interest? Weird.
