1. At least the story has a happy ending

There is now absolutely zero chance that she will be on the tick as VP or any other position in this administration. That was never Obama's plan anyway, but now she gave him what he needed to close the door on that one. Most people would think he was insane if he took on that baggage now.

So hopefully we have heard the last of the hysterical posts suggesting that would somehow be a dream ticket or that Obama somehow owed that to her. That idea died about 3:00 this afternoon.

Meanwhile the steady drip of superdelegates continued today, so we are now just a few days away from this torture being over, mercifully.

This can't be a good thing for her chances of getting help from the committee next week either

But prepare yourselves. She is not going to go away. The major media has already moved on to the fall campaign between Obama and McCain. We should note that the offensive remark was made in a small-town newspaper interview with a local reporter. The lack of attention is killing her, so she will just keep ramping up the rhetoric trying to get anybody to look at her.

It is way beyond pathetic now. But at least the real Hillary is right there for everybody to see now.

The pseudo-apology was to the Kennedy family, but not for giving the idea that Obama might be assassinated. And as Alter points out, she's lying about her husband in 1992 as well. She is a liar and we don't need more of that.
