1. A cheesy, cheapo ad, yes, BUT

The dog-whistles where definitely there. Note the dancers were INTERRACIAL--the black man dancing with the white girl, and eyeballing her ass suggestively--hard to miss.

At the same time, the guy also looks gay. Check the yellow sleeveless shirt, the "cowboy" hat--Village People, anybody? Definitely setting off some gaydar in Dixieland.

Sad to say, but the ad might actually be pretty effective among certain segment of the Missouri electorate

2. SF values

In the run up to the 06 election the Republic party rallying cry was that Nancy Pelose would become speaker and bring San Francisco values to the House of Representatives.
The strategy didn’t work and what change has happened seems to be for the better.
