The point she was making is that it could happen and if it did she would be ready to lead the Democratic Party. Although there's no positive way to spin her comments, she didn't say the act itself would be a good thing.

Ms. Trotta went a step further by suggesting we would be as well off were Senator Obama assassinated than if Osama were killed and even better yet would be to kill both of them.
