1. I can't recommend this highly enough!
Excellent, EXCELLENT talk - and so educational/informative. He puts it all together for me. I was aware that "they" controlled the media, and was unaware of the specifics. Now I get it.

I also was totally clueless regarding Reagan and the Fairness Doctrine. I'm off to google to learn some more.

Thanks for posting such an important video!

I agree wholeheartedly that campaign finance and media deregulation are two of the major factors in the decline of the US. I hope that we can focus on these two issues after the election and make some real and significant change.

I also like the fact that he went after Alan Colmes. I think that he is almost worse than Hannity in that he gives the Right WingNuts some sort of twisted claim to the show being "unbiased". The guy is a tool, pure and simple, sets himself up to lose every week and makes us look stupid. He represents the (even more) insidious side of the propaganda that our news has become.

Somewhere in his own corner of hell, Göbbels is amazed at the Propaganda machine the US has created. He mastered it, the US media PERFECTED it.

War is Peace.

45. So it took 4 pages to get around to blaming a
bill supported by both Bill Clinton and Al Gore on Hillary Rodham Clinton. I figured that was where it was going. Bill Clinton was the best Republican President we ever had, look at NAFTA and the WTO. One thing though how is it Al Gore seems to get a free pass on this stuff and he is still the hero of the left. I remember when Bill Clinton and Al Gore were in this area back in 1992 and Al Gore said WTI (a hazardous waste incenarator) would never be opened in their Administration. They said they was going to put protections in NAFTA to protect the environment and jobs, that never happened. They said they would stop illegal dumping of steel in the US, then totally abandoned the industry. The steel industry would not exist today if GWB of all people didn't enforce the trade laws. But yet everything is blamed on Bill Clinton and Hilary Clinton and Al Gore gets a free pass? One remark I hear from any Republican around here is that it was Bill Clinton that gave you NAFTA, how do you answer to that one?

14. It Wasn't Always Like This
This is, in many ways, the most fundamental issue we face. I know that sounds overblown, but consider: If the media is not doing it's job, then there's no foundation for addressing all the other issues we face. To paraphrase the old cliche, everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion but we all need facts on which to base our judgments. This video is something that everyone ought to see.

26. So, it's the media's fault that Americans are too lazy
to do any critical research or reading and educate themselves about what's going on in their country?

Ummm, I don't think so.

WE, THE AMERICAN PUBLIC, ARE THE PROBLEM. The media are in it for the money and most of us are too dense or distracted or worried about football or video games or our jobs to recognize this and go elsewhere for information.

Friends, there are a few million of us out here who figured out a long time ago that we were being spoon-fed the corporate agenda via TEEVEE and TALK RADIO. Some of us also saw that our newspapers were generally getting less and less apt to dig deep and find out what's really going on. We are the ones who go to libraries and bookstores and presentations by authors and people who have cred, and politicians we admire so we can get the truth. The whole story is out there NOW, but you have to get it yourself. You won't get it on TEEVEE.

I admit that what Robert Kennedy Jr said has SOME merit, but let's face it, if you are too stupid to see that the MSM isn't giving you the full story then I question whether you really ought to be voting.

Case in point: a dear friend of mine is a pretty smart woman who has a high-school education. She's a hardworking, resourceful person who has raised a family and who is a liberal when it comes to politics--or at least she thinks she is. Over the years I have tried to engage her in various discussions about world events and American political issues. Without fail she really has no idea about any of those things except exactly what she hears from the TEEVEE. Now, she's all pissed because Hillary is winning the popular vote and being treated unfairly by Obama who is trying to push her out of the race. Pullease!!! I cannot talk to her about this and she will not go to any info source except MSNBC and occasionally Fox Propaganda Net. I have urged her to go to the internets and learn more about the race and why Hillary is full of shit, but she refuses. She doesn't even know what Hillary has voted for or against during her Senate career but she is positive that she will be a fantastic president.

This woman reads only fantasy novels. She doesn't even subscribe to a newspaper or pick up any of the free liberal rags that are around our area.

Somehow I cannot blame the media for her ignorance and lack of curiosity.

And what's really sad is that she is at least taking a bit of interest in this election; whereas, before she has never been interested.

A system of government like our own cannot survive without citizens who are active in the political process and who are educated about what's going on around them.

I'm just hoping that Barack can get enough people interested in politics so they WILL become politically educated.

39. I know exactly what you mean
Support who you want, I say, but do it with some fact and reason. If you oppose that which your candidate supports, be ready to explain both positions.
I oppose the Patriot Act. Obama and Clinton support it with votes. I oppse the Energy Bill, Obama supported it.Voted yes, sir Mr Cheney, sir, just one more thing we agree about, sir!
I am against the use of cluster bombs, Clinton voted to continue them. I opposed the continued funding of the war, both of them voted to fund smorgasbord style. I oppose government interference in our family medical decisions, Obama voted with Frist and Co about Terry Shaivo and he made his mind up by watching that video made by the lunatic priest. He says he regrets that vote now, and I don't blame him. He should regret it. He does not regret his Patriot Act support or his Energy Bill support or his rejection of the Uniting American Families Act- another anti-gay vote. Bet you never heard of that bill.
In regards to voting records, the two candidates are almost identical, and a strong case can be made for either or against either. Patriot Act yes vote. Explian that away. A 'progressive' voting for the USA Patriot Act? Think that over a bit. Even Hillary had the good sense to reject the Energy Bill out of hand. Obama voted yes. Obama voted to certify Ohio, and thus to certify Cheney. Of course. Did you also agree with that vote? How did Clinton vote on that? I don't know. I know the candidates that earned my support with the work they did and not the words they bought voted no.

43. Yes it is
Our responsibility to know the real story. But I am a 9/11 truther and look how far it has gotten us. I can scream it was an inside job at the top of my lungs but where will that get me? So it is the medias responsibility to get the facts. Finding facts on the internets doesn't always make the 5:00 news. I talk about how we are in a dictatorship and people don't believe me. I mean what is it called when a sitting president gets to interput his own laws? The media doesn't even talk about being under a dictatorship. They didn't even care about the stolen election of 2000. Oh well what can we do now? Faux already announced the winner.

55. The founders expected a free press to inform the public ... probably naively--!!!
In fact, few of us have time to do the research --- therefore, "news" can easily be used to propagandize the public, misinform the public and misdirect the public.
