2. That's not the point...
Now we have a former President of the US that says Israel has them, and even gives a particular number. Believing that Max stold money from you is different than having someone-who-should-know tell you exactly how much Max stold from you. Now you're under pressure to do something about Max even if you think Max might whip your butt. That's the situation the governments of Syria, Egypt and others now find themselves in with their citizens. The pressure on these governments will surely increase.

Jimmy is a good person but he has not been judicious in his statements on this issue.

3. "...not been judicious...", true enough...
Had he been judicious he would have raked the Israeli government over the coals for its duplicity and hypocrisy. Then called for Israel to disarm.

6. I seriously doubt
anybody over forty didn't hear at least something about Mr Vanunu before Jimmy's major revalation.

We have clearly shown that we, the US, will do to those countries without MWDs as we please, and when we please.

The US, UK, France, and others let this dog bread. It seems a little too late to complain about someone pointing out the dog has pups and the neighbors are now looking to kennel.

Welcome to DU.

4. I can't even watch these people with their opinions for crying out loud.
When we have an administration so out of control, and these opinions about what Carter should or shouldn't be doing or saying... jeez already

7. It only turns up the heat on Israel to come clean about its nukes...
Edited on Mon May-26-08 10:49 PM by ChristianDemocrat1
and it turns up the heat on American foreign policy to give up its hypocrisy regarding nuclear proliferation and Israel.

These are both very worthwhile.

Because you cannot have progress in the peace process in the Middle East without fair, principled brokering.
And you cannot have fair, principled brokering without addressing & correcting the issue of America's shielding Israel for the very things it demonizes others for, in this context, the acquisition & deployment of nuclear weapons.

Until this skunk is dealt with, the whole place stinks too bad to get any work done.

You want peace in the Middle East? It involves justice (fairness, even-handed application of just principles).

9. Sigh
Can't believe anyone can suggest he shouldn't be saying that. Whatever happened to Iranian nuclear program?

The next time the US whine at Iran, the world will point and laugh. And then promptly tell the whiners to take their opinion and shove it where they hide their nuclear friends.
