My husband belonged to Local 3911 for almost 40 years at the Reynolds-Mc Cook Plant in Hodgkins,IL. The local, the plant and Reynolds itself no longer exist and that is largely thanks to globalization. My husband worked in the department that made armor plate for the military, wing skins for Boeing and McDonald-Douglas and the exterior fuel tanks for the space shuttle. I wonder who is making them now?
The plant began to have trouble almost as soon as Reagan took office.
