George W. Bush and Wall Street keep on telling us that we are in the middle of a terrible financial crisis...
but the Dow Jones Industrials Average is only down by 79 points. Pardon me if I don't panic.

1. Yeah, I just don't see all this panic. It was set up, me thinks, to happen just before

the recess (though I don't at all understand why a recess now????) so as to force a time issue even if it isn't based on real panic.

3. You dont see what is going on behind the scenes though...

The Fed is lending banks money like crazy so they can cover their assess. It was reported $184 Billion PER DAY in loans last week. The Fed is trying to delay stuff pending a bill being passed and the stock market is kinda holding flat not sure what is going to happen.

But I agree from a stock market point of view, the Dow is down to where it was when Bush took office. Certainly there has not been a major correction for all the whining.
