Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid told reporters today that Republican and Democratic Senate leaders, along with House Democrats have made progress on the bailout plan but the "injection of presidential politics" has harmed the process. Reid stated that McCain's insertion into the process has derailed negotiations and called for House Republicans to come to the table to work toward a resolution.

John McCain landed in Washington as an announcement of a deal was being made. Shortly thereafter, House Republicans, having met with McCain, denounced the plan and called for the inclusion of suspending capital gains in the bailout.

Please help expose McCain's stunt & digg it! http://digg.com/2008_us_elections/Senator_Reid_Slams_McCain_for_Derailing_Bailout_Negotiations?OTC-em-st1

2. Thanks!

So, now that McCain has made a bigger mess of this, they have shuffled him out of DC and down to Mississippi for the debate. He WILL participate in the debate.

What a freakshow!

3. The Republicans want to lower the capital gains tax? What?
How in the world could that possibly be a winner with their voters?

No, No, No.

4. They said they wanted a "clean" bill when help for American taxpayers was proposed
So I guess a big fat capital gains tax break for their wealthy friends doesn't qualify as dirty to these dirty bastards.

This really shows where the Republican Party's heart is -- with the same rich thieves who caused and profited from this Republican calamity.
