"The powers that be" know that if the left is given the option of a viable liberal candidate, that candidate would sail through the primary process. Then, horror of horrors, the Democrats would have to run a true liberal in the general election. What they prefer, is to have one or more token liberals to carry the Liberal Rallying Banner, knowing full well that they don't stand a chance. They garner the support of the idealogical left keeping them from becoming disaffected. Then, after they loose, the tokens will blithely hand support over to the 'acceptable' candidate.

I LOVE THIS WOMAN!!!!!

Boxer is like 5'2" or something and probably 100 pounds soaking wet but she can kick ass when she has to. And Inhofe - goddess, do I recognize that whole male shout down, macho neanderthal thing.
