16. At a wedding not long ago I talked to my girlfriend's boss (dentist).

He's a total economic Republican. He basically said American healthcare is just fine, as is the economy.

He said "it just depends on what side of the fence you're sitting on". He added that universal healthcare is bad and that it'll lead to the government deciding that doctor's can only make $100,000 a year, and why would anyone be a doctor or dentist for so little money?

There's more but I'll leave it at that. I was very calm and hit back hard with facts and statistics, to the point where he got pissed and LEFT the wedding early and bitched about me to my GF the next time she came into work (she's working part time while in school).

It's funny that he thinks *I* am the asshole.

Rev craphead was SO absurd, and circular with his twisted explanations of why liberals are morally ungrounded and "raised wrong", yet conservatives doing the same or worse were excused, or different somehow.

He, and that, was so wrong on so many levels that I could not even begin to address it all.

I especially loved the confrontation about bratboy, and how has been the most extreme definition of this asshole's definition of being bailed out over and over again, and has never had to take responsibility for his action. But somehow, that is different, and excusable.

Notice how he says (paraphrasing), "Oh, I'm not saying that all liberals raise liberal children..." It would've served his end, in terms of credibility, better to say, "I'm not saying that all liberal children are bad..."

But it's clear that liberal and pure evil, in his mind, are completely synonymous; and, as such, you can just throw "bipartisanship" out of the window, if this is the mentality you're facing across the table. This is the same mindset that fuels the Taliban, that fueled the Nazis, that fuels terrorist groups around the globe, that fuels those nitwits at the McPalin rallies.

Now, this is no knock on conservatism, per se but we're not even talking about conservatism, this is radical fundamentalism plain and simple.

19. Two things in particular I would point out to this dildo-

1) "318% increase is sexual assaults since 1960": I seriously doubt if the number of actual sexual assaults have increased that much, just the the number that are being reported. Everybody knows that in 1960 sexual assaults were rarely reported- there was a great deal of stigma and shame attached to being raped, but mainly because it was so often the victim that was put on trial.

2) "the kids are shooting up their schools": Surely this has nothing to do with the way America has become so flooded with guns in the last 25 years- I remember in 1978, street gangs were still using zip guns. ZIP GUNS! I bet half the people reading this post don't even know what a zip gun is! Why the hell would you want to mess around with a zip gun when there are MAC-10's available? Or when your dad has a closet full of pistols and shotguns? Nah- much easier just to blame the liberals.

23. My STBX was raised super-conservative.

His parents were early fans of "Dr." Dobson and his work, and they were harsh in their punishments and so on and so forth. And yet, STBX is selfish and self-centered so much so that he's blithely entered into two long-term affairs and is now divorcing me because, even though I've been through health crap and have stayed home to raise our kids, I'm not good enough for him (his excuse). He wasn't raised to be like that at all, but that's who he is today.

This guy's full of crap and trying to sell a book. When I taught high school, I had students were grew up in awful, just plain awful situations who were amazingly honest, beautiful spirits who worked damn hard. I had students from great homes who rebelled and hated everything and everyone. I figured then that there's a lot to the idea that parenting techniques only go so far, and now I'm living it.
