1. I've been watching this show since it started.
While I support their mission, I'm still trying to decide whether the captain is a genius, a dickhead, insane, or brilliant.

2. I don't think of any of those are mutually exclusive.
I admire their bravery and conviction, and wish them nothing bust the best.

Greenpeace is a joke BTW, and these guys are the only ones doing any REAL action to save theses whales.

3. As a sailor I will say that I think the captain is not a stable person.

I saw the episode where they boarded the ship illegally and that was an outrage. If someone boarded my boat like that I would have been less welcoming than the Japanese. The decisions of the Sea Shepard captain are not logical and will get someone killed some day. Not him of course because he will be below sleeping off his problems.

The episode where they launched the inflatable at dark and lost contact with it showed an irresponsible crew doing life threatening things. This show is pure sensationalism. It glorifies pirate mentality on the sea and puts humans and animals in danger. Peace, Kim

5. I also found it telling that the captain had to be reminded that the delta had a prop fouler onboard
The captain shouldn't have to be reminded of what his assets are equipped with, and what his tactical options are.

From what I've seen, the "captain" has a degree in Communications, but I'm not sure how he qualified to be a captain.

Maybe The Lady of The Lake lobbed a scimitar at him.

4. I also have been watching Whale Wars
I find it excellent. Yes, Captain Watson is looking to make the most of situations to raise awareness for the Whales. With all the problems in the world they have to find a way to get people "re-interested" in saving the whales. The civilized world has yet to find a humane way to kill a whale, the Japanese aren't going to humanely put the whale to "sleep". As you can see in some of the scenes in the series (very few thank God)the harpooned whale is suffering, it is horrible. But I and some friends continue to watch and hope.
