5. Right on!
Have you ever seen as despicable a bunch as those fucking Rovian Republicans? They are transparently unpatriotic. Hypocrisy has become so commonplace that they don't even recognize how horrible they are.

6. THIS WOMAN is the kind of Governor that I admire.
Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 11:12 AM by acmavm
She is the anti-Palin. She is smart, she is looking out for her constituents and not lining her pockets, and she isn't afraid to step up and tell the obvious truth.

Good for her. Good for the State of Michigan.q

7. Just saw her say it again on MTP -- excellent.
The current crop of Republican pols again and again take actions so outrageous, it's hard to think of them as anything other than the biggest traitors this country has ever seen.

And it's even more infuriating that when Dems were the minority, we couldn't get anything done.

Now, we're the majority, and these GOP turncoats are still having their way to inflict maximum damage on the country.

8. Republicans have NEVER been PRO-American
Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 11:37 AM by Phred42
They hate everything America has ever stood for and attempt to dismantle it every chance they get.

They especially hate democracy because it never works for them.

Prescott Bush and friends even attempted a Fascist Coup against FDR - they wanted to join the Nazi's

Isn't that obvious by now?

Since she was born in Canada though, I don't know if she'd be eligible.:-(

18. She's not, sadly.
Many of us here in Michigan still love her and think she's doing the best she can, given how awful the situation here is.

11. Wish our Democratic Governors
and Senators could stand up better. Remember they (the repuks) had the chairman of the Rules Committee David Drier leading the way. That is how they could control the legislation and how it would be presented to the congressmen. How many votes would be needed to change things. What could not be amended etc. The democrats would not do this and we really would not want them to. The working people will remember what they are trying to do and will remember that next election. If they don't we can remind them.

12. GOP is "un-American" and agree with Granhold -- EXCEPT ....
Edited on Sun Dec-14-08 01:01 PM by defendandprotect
I'd have government buy the factories, turn them over to the workers

and have them build ELECTRIC CARS -- dump the executives --

And US should subsidize the mfg and purchase of the cars --

Gov Granhold is CHANGE I like--!!!

Send us more Canadians who understand what's really going on in America--!!!

Let's subsidize something positive for a change -- and let's give up wars/warmaking --

14. I like it - I love it - I want some more of it! YES WE CAN! Give the companies to the workers!
This has my vote for one of the smartest things I have heard as a solution!

Check out this:

Winco Foods vs. Wal-Mart

http://www.wincofoods.com/

Wal-Mart vs Worker Owned Cooperatives and Companies

http://progressivevalues.blogspot.com/2006/01/wal-mart-vs-worker-owned-cooperatives.html

While a megacorporation such as Wal-Mart can justify their economic policies of paying low wages as a social benefit "cost tradeoff" for low prices the fact remains that worker owned coooperatives and employee owned companies can match Wal-Mart for prices and offer excellent benefits to the employees.

Winco foods is a good example of a employee owned company that offers excellent prices on food comparable to Wal-Mart. One brand of cat food sells for 79 cents a can at some stores, sells for two for 79 cents at Kroger Corporation owned Fred Meyer stores, but comes in at only 25 cents a can at employee owned Winco. On all other comparable items, Winco is able to consistently offer huge Wal-Mart style discounts to customers, yet to offer very good employee ownership benefits to the WinCo workers.

17. Jennifer's done a pretty darn good job as Gov here.
She inherited a HUGE mess from her predecessor, that fucking pig John Engler. She immediately took a pay cut and has been scrambling to keep our state together ever since. I wish we could have a third term. I really don't know who's going to step in after she leaves.

We really don't have many of her caliber to run after she's termed out. Whom could we run instead?

21. Can we sponsor a Constitutional Amendment banning GOP breeding?
Apparently the right feels that is the way to go, considering how they are always nattering on about Amendments banning abortion, and gay marriage and all sorts of other stuff. How about an Amendment striking at the roots of the problems by prohibiting GOPukes from reproducing?

Failing that, can we agree to support ANY dem against ANY GOPuke the same way we supported O against that other guy? Sure, maybe we'll wind up with more DINO's in the Senate but at least we won't have to listen to Corker et al anymore.

Oh, and kiss Liberman goodbye as well.
