30. Last weekend, I stopped in at a local restaurant for breakfast...
Local police eat there as well. This time there were three burly cops--all three with shaved heads.

I wondered why many cops nowadays seem to want to shave their heads? Do they think it makes them look more military-like? Less friendly? More intimidating?

3. Thanks to the brave officer who came forward to testify against the guilty ones.
That took real courage. He is a hero. I wish that more police officers could be like him.

4. You are so right.
It took enormous courage to act against the pressure of colleagues and to speak out for what is right. I hope this doesn't end his career as is often the case when an officer exposes the bad apples.

31. I suspected as much...
...and that is very unfortunate. We need more of his kind. It makes me wonder where the moral compass is by the others. Surely they recognize that what their colleagues did was very wrong, not to mention sick. They should be happy to be rid of them.

34. I'll get nailed for saying it...
but most cops are people that never got over being the high school bully.

35. I don't know it it's most...
...but there are a lot, too many for my taste. I personally know of two from high school who went on to be cops and they never should have been allowed on the force. I've also heard they are taking Gulf Wars vets, many of whom are suffering from untreated PTSD. This is a bad combination.

21. They better give him protection. Some of "New York's Finest" will be looking to take him out now.
And they'd be certain to get away with it, like they always do.

This cop has balls and a true sense of right and wrong.

19. It is the ultimate humiliation, male to male, in their minds
and that's one of their tactics, part of their panoply of torture, to humiliate the suspect.

I wonder if the cops would keep doing shit like this if they knew that every time they got caught there'd be a riot the likes of which few of them have ever seen before.

New York cops and raping men with objects. If they are doing this to men, then I shudder to think what is happening to women and what is not reported.

20. Rape is a quick and easy method of brutalization
And in a lot of cases, the victim is so ashamed and mortified that they will not come forward with it. it gets all the effect of savagely beating someone, without the "obvious" injuries of external bruises, broken limbs, etc.

It's just the pigs doing what they're trained to do - abuse the suspect while leaving as little indicting evidence behind as possible.

22. This is disgusting.
Kudos for the transit cop who came forward.

It's things like this that get the press, and good cops pay for these slimeballs' actions.

I don't hate cops. I do strongly dislike brutal people though, and these three qualify as brutal.

23. Two things...
One, we are hiring the OPPOSITE of the kind of people who should be in these jobs. Why is that, I wonder? How could the hiring and training system get it so wrong, so often? It seems rather improbable that abusive stuff should be so common and widespread, doesn't it?

Two, I'm not a user (never liked it, myself) but pot is NOTHING. There's no way we should be criminalizing people for it, for the last 4-5 decades. We have 25% of our population incarcerated now, which leaving aside many other outrages about that, is expensive. And prison guards making 100K? WTF? I'd say some rebudgeting and reprioritizing there would be in order.

There are too many petty legal issues of all kinds today with too serious legal consequences. We're micromanaging peoples' lives, while the really serious dangers are ignored or shoved aside. This is just more of the "social agenda enforcement" mentality... we see it for what it is here - barbarism, legalized. What's wrong with this picture? The cops like this are the criminal danger, and a lot are like them. Coincidence?

We've seen lately "the system's" hatred for the public economically. Isn't this hiring of mad dogs to "protect" us, another of its intentional ways of attacking and destroying the public? (All the while bleeding our own funds from us, to use against us - just as in our other "problems".)

Edited on Mon Dec-15-08 05:36 PM by 20score
Every day something like this happens because the cops get away with it. We need cops - we don't need cops that are worse than the criminals. Nor should we put up with cops that that belong behind bars.

28. is there anything in the constitution protecting the right
of *cops* to bear arms? gunless, batonless, taserless cops might be more civil and might find more effective ways of keeping the peace and working for a less violent society for their own safety if for no better reason, and it would reduce the allure of the profession to the more brutal elements.

Obviously, a minimum now would be taking away any weapon they can use for anal penetration short of what they're born with. Hell, let's just outlaw male cops. We'd be better off with gorillas.

32. My best friend's fiance is a cop and a very good one. There are good and bad in all professions
but abusing power when you are a police officer makes the other person feel like anyone with authority is not to be trusted, it is a betrayal. Rob, my best friend's fiance is a good, hardworking cop. He has seen his share of dead bodies and drugs and bad crime and also some asshole cops on his own force. His Dad is a cop so he feels he has to uphold his job with some respect. I have immense anger toward these cops that abuse innocent people.

The cops would have probably said that he "already had" those internal injuries (from a police baton-shaped object) before they came upon him..
