While I was in the hospital, I lost my deeply loved and deeply loving vosMaeri Eclectus, Booboo. The vet thinks it was the stress of me being away so long. Yes, she was being cared for, well, and by one of the few people she showed as much affection for as she did me, my best friend.

Too raw for me. Much too raw.

Oh shit. I'm crying.

I just lost my Amazon. Even though I have a houseful of animals, she leaves a huge hole in the family. I'm still going over to where her "castle" was to chat with her, and give her treats. It hurts every time.

RIP, Booboo, and please play with my Sinbad. She likes to laugh and will share any extra almonds she might have.

I've had 5 of them -- can be the sweetest, loungiest dogs in the world; EXTREMELY smart, just tooum, 'dignified' tobe great in obedience (as a whole).

My dogs and cats, even the kids guinea pigs are loved and well cared for in sickness and in health. They have good food. They have clean water. They have comfortable shelter. Providing these things is not difficult. It is a happy pleasure. Yet, I am disturbed when pondering the fact that my pets live better than billions of people, and that it doesn't have to be that way.
