2. I saw both those segments last night and was absolutely shocked.

Armey is a vile man. Bob Herbert is a true gentleman. Matthews needs to be dressed down for his cowardice in not confronting Armey forcefully instead of muttering "not prattle" or some such that you could barely hear.

I sincerely hope that is the last time he or anyone else ever has Dick Armey on their shows. Or if they do, they'd better have a better comeback to him than Matthews did.

These guys, they wish we were still back about 800 centuries. The Republican party is just embarrassing on issues like this, there has to be segments of the party who can think forward a little bit, I hope. I know Republicans who are good people, I can't see how they hell they could ever consider somebody like Dick Armey a viable representative of what they believe in.

Kudos to Bob Herbert though, he's a class act and a wonderful person.

8. Hey, I've got an idea...

...what say the the Wife Swap reality TV show on ABC get the Armeys and Joan Walsh to do one of their 'swap thingies' - don't know if Joan has a husband, but I think she has a daughter, and how much harm could a Mrs. Armey do to a teenager in the few days it would take for this thing anyway? Now this would be something I would tune in to see. Nice, pleasant conversations around the dinner table...friendly banter at Republican cocktail parties...hell, maybe she, Joan, could even invite Lorena Bobbit in for a 'sleep-over'.

Of course, it might represent a problem when Dick's wife decided she wanted to take this opportunity to get shed of the asshole and not come back at all.
