Any guesses as to why TYT got their account suspended?

2. Okay, so can somebody actually answer the question please?

I was hoping to see an actual answer to the question..."Why was the channel taken down". Instead, it was just a bunch of people asking the same question. I have heard a few reasons, from "Copyright infringement" to some type of censorship. I would love to find out the actual reason. Like everybody else, it is very puzzling and I love the show. It is really amazing and I would love to see the channel back.

why would YT pull a channel for something it posted a year and a half ago? :shrug:

7. Dunno if it's the _same_ suspension, but apparently

a spokesperson for the Young Turks said in 2007: "The You Tube system for resolving these claims is, in my opinion, ridiculous and takes far, far too long. We're in that process now." :shrug:

12. It's not the *same* suspension, but it's the same type of suspension.

It's bogus claims of copyright infringement. YouTube has a 3 strikes policy. So all it takes is (for example) someone at Fox to single out THREE out the thousands of videos they've had on their channel to file a complaint about.

Once the complaints reach three and BEFORE they've been looked at for validity, the account gets suspended.

PS---If you want them back on XM mornings Monday-Friday instead of only on weekends, .

I'm an American living/working in Switzerland and I've never listened to Young Turks on XM, but what you're going through is clearly horseshit. PM me if you think there's anything further I, or my husband (DUer Call Me Wesley) can do to support Young Turks.

6. I'm not a big fan of Turks..

but this stinks. I subscribed to his channel out of protest. I've never heard of taking down an entire account due to one video. I'm on with the person suggesting counter banning the hate speech of the right's darlings.

8. for some strange reason

the right wingnuts think they rule all information dissemination in this country. They think that them mobilizing their myrmidons to call in and complain about something they don't like means that they can rule what gets put on air waves, satellite transmissions and cable signals. I've got news for them: they are asking for a fight that they can't win. Ever. There are far more progressives in this country than there are conservatives--and to say otherwise is to lie and to engage in lying.

Obama didn't squeek by with a 2% margin to win the presidency. He won by a good margin--which means that a huge majority of the people in this country voted for a liberal and not a conservative. It's just that conservatives set themselves up during the 8 years their boy was in office to basically own the broadcast construct that was their loudspeaker to steamroll their viewpoint over everyone and shove their doctrine down everyone's throats. But at the end of the day, they are a minority and they don't have the votes from We The People to control the government.

It's time for them to either get over it or leave the country if they don't like it.

however, what I said above still stands. I mean, for a congresscritter to go suck up to limpshit and ask for his absolution is a prime example of what I said in post #8.
