Rachel Maddow talks with Arianna Huffington and Hal Sparks about the amazing phenomenon of extreme conservative ideologues expressing their desire from a failed Obama Presidency.

This kind of nihilism is what happens to a political movement when it grows more attached to its abstract philosophies than it is to the interests of the people and the country it supposedly exists to serve.

If America succeeds during the Obama era, particularly on the heels of the disastrous Bush Administration, that would mean that conservatives have been historically wrong on a biblical scale. This is not seen as an acceptable outcome in some quarters.

From "The Rachel Maddow Show," March 2, 2009.

3. I liked him at first.
After he annoyingly interrupted Arianna for the 10th time I changed the channel. How rude!

6. Was he on coke or something?
He sounded hyper and over-participatory to me.

5. Too bad, Arianna got in some very good points (7:40) about all the attention being
diverted to this shiny thing called Rush and away from Rove and his revisionism. It took until 7:40 minutes into the piece for her to be able to get in her "I want to get back to Karl Rove..." and "...he who controls the past, controls the future".

Rush is just another "entertaining" diversion, feeding the base red meat while Rove and the rest of the Bush cabal rewrite history.

2. Yo, Hal. Can I get a word in edgewise, please?
Thanks...

Signed,

Arianna.
