2. Remember the Martin Short character on SNL being questioned about dangerous toys?

3. Another member of the Bush Revisionist Historians Troop
That's why I am so bothered to see so much media time given to Republicans.
Even NPR today had Jonah Goldberg as the main guest on Talk of the Nation.
Giving idiots who did not denounce the Bush Gang's criminal behavior and who seek to undermine Obama's efforts that much prominence is really disappointing.

4. Rifkin has a strong Eastern European accent.
Where was he born? What is his background? I suspect that he went to high school in this country but was not born here. Does anyone know?

7. I don't know where he comes from, but he and/or his brother
are connected to the AEI. I've seen them both on CSPAN in the a.m. as r/w spokesmen.

5. Exemplary Torture, Mismanagement & Misdeeds You Mean
Well here we have it, an old Reaganite making another gumption assumption, that the conduct of Bush's war was better than others in our past, compared to "the historical baseline"...I do not recall anywhere in our history where the chief executive, or the military for that matter, approved of the practices Bush & co. committed...If I recall correctly Washington ordered his troops to treat not mistreat the locals (a great column in the Post or Times quoting his policy, which seems in direct contradiction to Bush directives); later on (I believe post WWII, although I'd have to look it up) the U.S. considered waterboarding a war crime. The U.S., I believe prosecuted those who practiced it, but changed their tune, that it is not anything such, the reasoning of "when we do it"...For more, see my blog on the misconduct of the military and its leaders at http://www.wrathofmcgrath.com.
