1. I'm So Glad & Blessed That My Husband Retired When He Did... His Union CWA

was very helpful then, but since Verizon took over GTE many of his buddies say it changed things a LOT! Several of them took early retirement too, just because.

Now we worry about what they will do regarding health care. Presently, even though it's a PPO it's better than most health care plans. We're just waiting until the shoe drops, but so far THIS year there have been no changes that have affected us YET!

I've always been one who backed the Unions, but if they're selling out their own what's the point of having one? I feel so sorry for those who are looking down the barrel of this gun, it's shameful and mostly scary! I worry EVERY day about job losses and what "we the people" have lost in this country!

What bothers me the most, and the thing that makes me scratch my head a lot is WHY don't these upper class CEO's realize that WITHOUT experienced workers their companies might just NOT BE ONE!!!

It's all so depressing. My husband took all his money when he retired and I'm so glad we made that decision. I know some who didn't and now wish they did. At least we have "something" to fall back on, but my sister tells me all the time the things they keep cutting from her husband's union. Their health care has changed a lot, but then he was a Steel Worker and it was some time ago that he retired.

As I said, we wait and wonder too, but certainly we are more fortunate than many people right now. As BOOMERS we NEVER thought this country would come to this. I did hear a guest on C-Span answer a question about what has been going on for so long and he said... "if the people make a big or loud enough noise, they will have to be listened to!"

I can't be sure he was right, but I DO think the ONLY way we can get our point across is to ban together and REVOLT! The "RIGHT" has made so many things "Wrong!" Even as they lose their jobs they still follow their leader (whoever that is) and seem not realize how screwed they really are!
