8. They don't really know or care

They like the PR friendly soundbite. Next year this time they'll be railing in soundbites about whatever Obama does and about the economy in general when they screwed it up and had nothing to offer to fix it. Either they they'll frame the debate in the hope of political victory. They simply don't think in terms of policy solutions, it's not their thing.
