2. Another view

Another possible spin on this little Gingrich/Limbaugh thing. If Newt is interested in getting back into elected office i.e. run for President in 2012 then this looks a little different. For Newt to run he would have to appear to move toward the center. The Republicans can't win with just their base so this is a given. So you have Limbaugh obviously sitting way to the right of the political spectrum. To help out Newt they get together and have a little fight where Newt puts down Rush and Rush doesn't really fight back too hard. That way Newt claims a position somewhere to the left of Rush claiming it is a centrist position when it is really still far to the right and 'looks' strong because the big bad Limpballs more or less backs down from him.

Even for a higher purpose than himself. I saw a clip recently in which Limpballs referred to Gingrich as a "fly-by-night" politician to his radio audience; but people like me, Limpballs said, will always be here for you.

Especially Limbaugh. He doesn't have anything to gain by a Gingrich ascendancy. But he has EVERYTHING to lose by getting into a fight with Gingrich and LOSING. Limbaugh is on a hot streak bitch-slapping the clowns who have been in front of the GOP pack. He has the good sense not to overplay his hand this time.

Say what you like about Newt, but he is politically a whole lot smarter than any of the other players in this act. The Contract with America remains one of the top 10 political moves in the past 50 years.

Limbaugh is your typical schoolyard bully. Talks tough when he can beat up on the smaller kids, but backs off in a hurry when a bigger kid comes along.

Remember....Limbaugh is an announcer. Newt wrote the announcements. Like I say in a post below, there were memos on what words to call Liberals and stuff....from Newt.

It was a symbiotic thing....but...and this is the fun part....each one thinks they owe the other. I think Newt has more sway. Like I said below...he actually WAS the LEADER of the GOP.

This is one of the typical Republican spin tricks. Find the lowest poll available no matter how obscure and site that as the Democrats approval rating. Technically they are telling the truth there is a poll that matches their number even if every other poll shows something totally different.
