She's sharp as a tack. Torches and pitchforks, people. Madame Defarge needs to knit Burnett's name into her scarf.

2. Erin Burnett needs a Daily Show guest slot
I'd love to see her whining and whimpering and confessing her past sins of omission and commission like Cramer. She'd probably be harder to crack because she's a true believer and she doesn't wear her heart on her sleeve like Cramer. But that would make it all the more fun when she finally broke down.

3. "Some people say"
"People are talking about it"

"Just throwing it out there for discussion"

How about we throw Erin off a 20 story building... Some people SAY her cat like reflexes will save her. Well,
some people are talking about it.

6. Please tell her about at Janitors' Job in Ohio. At least 1,000
persons showed up and applied. She would be surprised at the good
backgrounds of the applicants. Erin is quoting the Ultra RWers in
Congress. This has been their line through the years.

Once her looks start to slide, maybe we'll see how Erin deals with unemployment.

12. Saw her on Bill Maher's show a few weeks ago ..
... she really is carrying water for the extreme no-tax righties and Wall Street thieves. I believe her marching orders for that appearance was to work the phrase, "Soak the rich" in as many times as possible. Maher finally called her on it, but didn't beat down as much as that smug Reaganite needed.

14. That crack about the Welfare reform
really ticks me off. There was a lot of mythology surrounding Welfare especially the stereotype of a Welfare Queen with 7 children living eternally off of Welfare. The typical recipient lasted about 2 years anyway. The whole culture wasn't suddenly changed overnight. And it is not just pregnant teenagers, it's divorced mothers, too. These people want to get you coming and going. First no one should ever have sex, second no one should ever become pregnant by mistake, third no one should have birth control, no one should have access to a morning after pill, no one should have an early termination, no one should receive any sex education, and the big one: no body gets any help to make sure that baby has food or a roof over its head. And believe me the system goes after the fathers. And the mothers.

This was such a stir the shit statement that I am sure it was scripted so that poor/unemployed people get lambasted once again by RW repukes...

17. i'll be sure to tell my sister to quit looking then. because she has been looking
since october. there is NOTHING out there. i bet she couldn't even go back to walmart if she wanted to right now. which she doesn't. i guess that means all those lines of people we see on tv applying for any and every job must have let their unemployment run out. like up in buffalo when they had a whole LOT of people show up for summer jobs with the bisons. all over the country people are inundating job fairs. they must ALL be past their unemployment!! that means the unemployment numbers must be worse than is being reported, because if all the people looking have already let their unemployment lapse, then they aren't counted on the list. what a nit wit.

18. thanks for posting this ... here's the letter I sent to MSNBC after reading it.
The other day I saw Erin Burnett on Morning Joe.

During the discussion, she made the suggestion that "some people" are asking if
people who have been laid off are waiting for their unemployment to run out
before finding new jobs. The "some people" positioning is a Fox news way of
putting forward a BS argument, and your management should be ticked that she's
using it.

More unfortunately, she neglected to indicate "which people" are making this
claim, nor did she provide any DATA to back up the suggestion. Then, amazingly,
she said that she didn't have any opinion on this one way or the other herself
... which is astonishing given that SHE is the one that brought it up IN THE
FIRST PLACE.

You'd think that as an expert on the economy, Erin would have have at least some
data, some specific people to quote, and a VIEWPOINT of her own before making
the SUGGESTION on your network.

Yet she had none of those.

So .....I have an idea to test the theory she put forward. MSNBC should lay off
Erin Burnett.

Let's see if SHE waits until her unemployment runs out before she starts trying
to find a new job. She could do an in-depth piece on how those who've been
laid-off actually respond. Do they wait? I can see her in the unemployment line
now. It would be great reality TV.

btw .... After Erin's ridiculous, source-free, fact-free suggestion ... Joe then
used her non-data, non-fact approach to do one of his own regarding welfare
mothers ... who he thinks are having babies by the millions for a few extra
bucks. It was at that moment that I changed the channel to CNN.

You see .... every evening around 5pm I put my TV on MSNBC. And it generally
stays there until after Rachel Maddow's show.

Then, in the morning when I get up, my TV is still set to MSNBC, and I try to
watch Morning Joe. And almost every day, there is a segment that is as
ridiculous as the one I've mention above ... my TV gets switched to CNN ... and
it usually stays there until about 5pm.

A real Joe in NC.

20. You have to be actively looking for a job to GET UNEMPLOYMENT - they ask for proof
EVERY WEEK and if you don't provide it or the info you give doesn't check out (and they DO check) then you DO NOT GET UNEMPLOYMENT.

Does she even have any AIR in there? She appears to be completely vacuum-packed.

21. Torches and pitchforks...
...are too good for that right wing shill.

If, heaven forfend, I were to get laid off, the payments I would receive from unemployment would not even cover my mortgage payment, much less life's other necessities. And I am quite sure I am not alone in this.

People who are getting laid off in this current economy are panicked and scared, and rightly so. Unemployment pays the groceries, maybe offsets a little of the monthly bills, and that's it. No way that most people would be putting off getting a job which would cover their expenses.

Unfortunately, those jobs are continuing to dry up.

I'm telling you, torches and pitchforks are too good for her. Trying to visualize what I'd like to see, let's just say, there are different ways of interpreting the term "severance package". And I'll just leave it at that.

28. No point relying on Stewart
He's done so much more than anyone else I can think of.

Call up CNBC and tell them, 'hey I used to watch your channel, until I stumbled across this show...'. Flesh in some details. They get enough complaints, she might be able to scope out life on unemployment in first person.
