1. I got halfway through and realised the Repug response to his message

"why should we help out the LOSERS?"

I agree with him, in a different way though. I don't believe in "giving the money" to poor countries, but maybe train people to help them, our people and theirs, and help them build factories to build that equipment, plus techniques to grow food, so they can help themselves.

You gotta change peoples minds before you change the world.

3. RE the poor countries.
Making widgets for WalMart replaced a lot of local economies like growing coffee replaced edible crops for preceding generations.

I don't think you have many minds to change in the countries that are trying to survive the Chicago School's Brave New World of economic theory.
First, we need to do no harm.

See Monsanto, Neslea, and other heroes of the 'free market'.
Note what they have done to those poor nations, for cheaper prices, and captive markets.

2. The voice of reason sounds radical in our current world.
Very interesting. Thanks for posting the Professor for us.

4. Yes, I was thinking the same thing.
Growth for U.S. companies is the end all and be all, and it is killing us and much of the world.

5. And in the same vein..
Professor Brian Czech, Virginia Tech University, explains the basic conflict between continuous economic growth and environmental protection.
