2. What's happening to CNN?
I'm not saying they're biased or anything, just... trivial and childish. This press agent represents perhaps the pinnacle of passive aggressiveness; he kind of gets called out on his non-sense so he accuses the president of dodging an answer. "Because I like to know what I'm talking about before I speak" is a straight-forward, blunt, non-evasive answer. How is that a dodge????

9. Dodge?
Another game played by the media, when you ask a question that sounds good but really doesn't have an real meaning behind it you act like you have some 'inside information' that there was really something there and the President 'dodged it'. As you stated the President's answer was straight forward that instead of just running out in front of the press and spouting off whatever comes to mind President Obama likes to do his research and discussion so he can be sure of what he says. Henry was trying to intimate that some kind of spin control or conspiring was going on behind the scenes or that Obama's anger was staged after they decided that was the way to go. It is similar to the old canard that a politician waits for the polls to come out so he can see which way the wind is blowing before taking a position.

3. Is anyone really surprised by any of this? This is corporate media bullshit, and nothing more.

5. Reagan didn't take a dump without reading it from a teleprompter first. Where was the outrage then?

I see Ron Fournicator from the Associated Press is at it again, carrying the water for the Republicans, according to Cenk's comments.

I'll say it again: The WH Press Corps has been lulled into a state of stupidity after eight years of Bush. Now, we have a president who's a great communicator and is quick on his feet in answering questions and they don't know how to handle it. Also, I'd like to know if Obama's news conferences allow the media gerbils to ask spontaneous questions. Under Bush, everything was controlled, from who asked the questions to what questions were asked to minimize the chances of him sounding stupid. We all saw how that worked.

Jon Stewart, a comedian, showed more journalistic skills in that interview with Jim Cramer than the MSM gerbils have shown in the last 20 years. When Katie Couric can receive a Cronkite Award for her interview with Palin, you know the bar is set low with these clowns. Couric's interview turned out good in that it further showed what an idiot Palin is, but she didnt' ask anything an experienced journalist would consider their best and most probing line of questions.

6. This meme has become standard Obama slam on among idiots
In my opinion this proves 2 things:

1. The mainstream media is infiltrated by a bunch of right-wing hacks.

2. Right wingers are IDIOTS.

But I guess we already knew both of those things :)

Anyway Cenk is awesome as usual!

to present legitimate tough questions to Democrats without the bullshit? God help us.

8. Ed Henry 146 years ago
I think the telling part of the whole thing was that President Lincoln had written the Gettysburg Address down on paper before he delivered it.
He has clearly decided it's important to control the message and not have any missteps that could further damage his already fragile presidency.

isn't it getting ridiculous. If I remember correctly the former POTUS didn't blink an eye when all this went down. Did anyone ask him why he wasn't upset? His explanation was 'Wall Street got drunk' and they just accepted it. C'mon MSM..get better questions and stop acting like the Enquirer.

15. Part of the Repuke bag of tricks
Edited on Thu Mar-26-09 10:05 AM by libodem
is to catch any little sound bite, isolate it from the larger context, and proceed to beat the public to death with it. They do that a lot on the campaign trail. Follow the crowds, snap pictures, take video, wait for one misspoken sentence, and then hack it apart with a machete. Faux is obviously frustrated that they can not catch enough of these unguarded moments to abuse. And then we have a lot of the 'Twinkle, twinkle, little star...What you say, is what you are' Repuke playbook exercises, and that seems to be, to accuse, other people of what you are doing or have done, to distract attention away from your own nefarious activities. I'd, be aware, the minute they start accusing and finger pointing take a look at where the other 3 fingers are pointing back to.(yeah, I know I ended witha preposition,so what)

you're right there in the middle of the story! I wonder why they didn't bring up the fact that Obama always comes out last to a press conference - but maybe they're saving that bombshell.
