says single payer universal health care is too expensive bullshit....He knows it would put these greedy, cheating, preying on the sick health insurance corporations out of business...good riddance...government can do it more efficiently, fairly and far less expensive to all of us the tax payers than what the disgusting insurance corporations demand for little or no benefits.

7. This is just as the Ruling Class desires.
Watching Politics for longer than I care to share, all I can say
is what is new???

Our own party after giving Wall Street Hundreds of Billions.
The First ACT OF OUR party was---The Middle Class Taxcuts will
have to go.

2ond out the gate: We cannot afford this Health Care Plan.

How different is that from the Republicans
Send Trillion to Iraq.

Start a War--Give thePrivileged a tax cut.
Make Middle Class Pay taxes and send their kids to war.

Go back as far as you will and one will find a pattern.

33. I have actually heard a person associated with health care say something
like that "those people who go to the ER for health care need to get a doctor and stop abusing the system". Some people just don't want to believe that people can't afford health care.

I called Senator Sander's office earlier this week to thank him for putting a hold on that Goldman Sach's person that Obama wanted to put in Treasury. They seemed so glad to have someone call to say thanks even if the person wasn't from Vermont. So if you have a chance, please call Senator Sander's office and give him a thumbs up for standing up for us.

Regards

Stop the Madness: Bernie Sanders Tries to Block Appointment of Latest Wall Street Insider

By Amy Goodman, Democracy Now!. Posted March 26, 2009.

AMY GOODMAN: Independent Senator Bernie Sanders is attempting to block President Obama's nominee to head the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, Gary Gensler, who is a former Goldman Sachs employee. Sanders said in a statement that Gensler worked to deregulate electronic energy trading and exempt from regulation credit default swaps from regulation, which led to the collapse of AIG and has resulted in the largest taxpayer bailout in US history.

Senator Sanders joins us now from Washington, D.C., independent senator from Vermont, elected to the Senate in 2006 after serving sixteen years in the House, the longest-serving independent member of Congress in American history.

Even though he's always right, Sen. Sanders is always fighting uphill. I sent him a thank-you note mentioning that thousands (if not millions) of other people would wholeheartedly agree with him if they were paying attention. I told him even if you're not hearing from these folks, they would be grateful and appreciative of his efforts.

He's on Thom Hartman's show every Friday in the first hour, and also puts out a newsletter a couple times a month to keep us in the loop.

That's either a Brooklyn or Bronx accent!

He's simply the best.

Unlike the Republicans that want to cover every problem immediately, even thoug that approach has caused disaster and unforseem problems for the last eight years.

The short term approach is flawed when you have a world populated bu 5 billion people and growing.

Also telling is the obvious thoughts going through the seated ones heads while Sanders sprays them with the fire hose of Truth:

"Oh God. When's the commie going to get done talking already. Blah blah blah health care blah blah blah I'm a commie . . . same old shit. We GOT to get a Bush back in the White House. Screw the damned middle class."

49. After Watching Bill Moyers Last Night ...
...I really am beginning to see, it is time to get out the torches and the pitchforks. Moyer's guest, William Greider of The Nation, was also advocating torches and pitchforks in peaceful assembly to get the points out that Senator Sanders is trying to make. You can see Grieders' comments here: http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/index-flash.html.

I have participated in protest and I am haunted by what Naomi Wolf said about it and why is seems so ineffective. She said that this ineffectiveness is because you have to break laws before it becomes affective. This does *not* mean you have to be violent. Choosing the laws that are unjust and wrong then deciding to openly violate them and then TELLING the authorities you are going to violate them, is hard to do when these laws are about the health and financial world. How can you violate laws that are about having billions while you have little or nothing? Also being willing to take the consequences of those violations is also hard when you have jobs and families to consider the impact and what it will do to them, if you have to go to jail. Or if you are beaten so badly, you are incapacitated ...

Here is what is haunting me: How do you violate some tax law that benefits the rich and tells us we are nothing? How do we violate a law about health care that favors the drug companies and tells the user that killing them while charging an arm and a leg is ok? How do you violate a bail-out package that is going to burden our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren while enriching the already rich while impoverishing the rest of us?

Still, torches and pitchforks seem to be the only way as anything else seems to be moot. While the protests I have participated in were fun and full of life and intelligent people, they were often put down even by the people who participated ~ and I could not help but notice how Bernie's very accurate description of our plight was put down by those disgusting elitists. They sat there in thier smugness trying to rationalize why they voted for Welfare DeFormed (which took away an entitlement) because well, it was the right thing to do ~ but to whom? It bars desperate single mothers from even going to school and forces them into slave labor that does not even pay the rent! But hey, their votes WILL and HAVE enriched more of those elitists, like the Waltons who owns Walmart who blatantly and proudly exploit women and elders every day in order to enrich themselves. I know a woman, a nun who broke the law by breaking into the School of the Americas to bring attention to the killing machine and unrest that "school of murder" teaches. She was in her 70's and is doing 6 years in prison for that. She will probably die in there. How could a single mother be able to force her kids to pay the price of foster homes and living without her to make that stand?

So yeah, as an old social justice supporter, I am mad as hell and I don't want to take this crap anymore. But how do you organize this? It is time!

54. No Democrat other than maybe Kucinich, would stand up like Sanders has done here.
The Democrats in Congress are all bought off by big health and pharma, not to mention
the banks.

There has been some writing, and I can't remember where to find it now, about the
idea that "Democrats hate Populism and Progressives," and that there is an internal
war on to marginalize populist thought and action by Democrats.

I think this is very important to keep in mind--that Democrats have declared war
on the populist movement, progressive movement and were actually complicit in the
demise of the middle class, starting with Reagan.

Do we dare, as a statement, start calling our party the deprecating 'Democrat' Party?
They are not Democrats in my view, but GOP-lite.

imho. Good Luck.
